I AM IN PAIN!

There are sharp pains radiating through my back intermixed with involuntary muscle spasms...I do believe this what they call "throwing out your back" and FUCK IT HURTS!

Seriously, I have probably taken more ibuprofen today then I have in the past year...and the worst part is, after the obvious pain...I don't even have a good story for you!

NO...
I was not rescuing the neighbors daughter from a burning building....saving a kitty stuck in a tree...having crazy and wild monkey sex...or getting granny away from a charging heard of black rhinos. I was simply putting my yoga bag in a friends trunk.

Our day plan was to practice yoga and then continue to market our new business venture.

But you already know it...sometimes life throws us a curve ball! We don't know when the next natural disaster will hit, if we will get in a car accident today, or if we will contract a deadly illness.

All we can do is plan, prepare and adapt.

I took a minute, literally a minute, to walk across the kitchen and take the following picture.
Friends...wear your nice clothes, enjoy your body, and live for a legacy of love!
I am going to go hobble upstairs now:p

Make it a great day!

Anti-War or Pro-Peace?

"I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there." -- Mother Theresa (1910-1997)

Like Mother Teresa, lets approach our wants from a positive prospective. Angry about war...stand up for peace. Angry about obesity...stand up for healthy nutrition. Angry about pollution...stand up for clean innovation and higher standards. I am constantly thinking about ways in which we can ignite a social awareness and truly implement sustainable change. Result driven action will come when we collectively make sustainable issues a moral priority.

We live in a distracted world of social conformity...lets think outside the box and develop positive growth solutions.

Monday questions ~
(I want your answers!)

How do I make you care about stewardship?
How do I inspire you to demand sustainable growth.
(btw ~ growth is either sustainable or not!)
It's your grand children's future we are talking about here..how do i light a fire under your ass?

pensive pipe face:)

Make it a great week and approach ever situation with a focus on positive solutions!

Answer the questions now! (email or post in a comment suchielove@gmail.com)

45 Lessons from a 90year old! Thanks Auntie Marg;-)

My Aunt Marg sent me this a few days ago...45 Life Lessons from 90 year old, Regina Brett. Some of the messages are so spectacular, I am thinking about posting this weekly! Enjoy:-)

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Its estimated 93% won't forward this.

I have a feeling many of you are in the 7%:-)
Make it a great day friends and thanks again Auntie Marg!

Hello Anonymous Comment...read till end;)

In response to the Things Forgotten post, an Anonymous reader wrote:

"If you do not share the memory, If you do not share what hurt you, why it hurt you, what made the memory come back, then why do I care? I want to care, but you are hiding your inner most feelings and only those feelings revealed will allow me follow you. Who is Suchielove, really, what makes him tick?"

Ask and you shall receive...I am an open book friends:-)

So, In preparing a response, a few things struck me...

~ Is it necessary to know every detail about someone to care for them?

As you know, one of my life missions is to steward the planet for future generations. All I know about these future generations is that they will come from the same energy we did. I care about them simply because, to care is to love! However yes, relationship growth comes with knowledge and shared experiences.

Then I thought about the core of the reader's question...

~ Why would a reader care to be a part of this blog community?

Hell of a question! Yes, I started the blog for me, I aim to challenge myself/entertain/educate/stimulate interest/and motivate others. The core focus was to vocalize and be held accountable. So again, why would someone want to "follow me/be a part of this community?" Ultimately, I feel it is because they find it interesting, believe in me, the premise, or the mission of this blog. They believe in the potential within...or are simply supportive friends and family.

Now for your story Anonymous reader...the crux of "Things Forgotten?" Love obviously! haha

It starts with the only time I have been in love. You know, the lay on the floor with nothing to say while you feel like your heart was ripped out of your body and macerated in a blender type love. The I have a beautiful naked women on top of me and I don't want to sleep because she is not "her" type of love. The "WTF! You slept with one of my friends!" type love. The, make breakfast, lunch, and dinner type of love. The, lest stay in bed all day type love. The, life was just better seeing her face type love.

It happened fast...there were failures in communication...it got filed away and all but forgotten.

With lines of communication severed...a random re-add Facebook request opened the cabinet drawer.

There was a text conversation and the story ends...as I said in things forgotten...

"The lesson hurt...A LOT! However, the best lessons might just hurt A LOT!

Yes I lived. Yes I loved. Yes I laughed. Yes, even I cried. And YES, I learned.

Always living, loving, laughing and learning."

In closing...

Dear Anonymous reader,
Thank you for your comment. I don't know if those are the details you were looking...I don't know if you have a little bit better idea about what makes me tick...but I do hope that you learn from this lesson and always communicate your emotions.
Remember...An action is only a mistake if we do not learn from it!

Make it a great day and communicate your feelings!

Written with love

Stephen

Above and beyond.

After starting to compile February's collage, I quickly came to the conclusion that I was going to make 2 collages! Two reasons lead to that result:
1. we have a lot of pictures
2. 2 participants went above and beyond, took some fantastic photos, and really got out there!

Enjoy February's first collage ~ well done ladies!

Presently...

I am working to put together February's 12 in 12 collage.
Developing promotional material for a new business venture.
I may have my first paid blogging job!
And to top it all off, I am moving and don't know where:-)

Think outside of the box friends!

Things Forgotten

We really only file memories away.

Lets just say something happened a month or so ago and all of a sudden a bunch of old memories and emotions, memories and emotions that quite frankly I had forgotten about, flowed right back in. Long story short
1. I was reminded
2. afforded the opportunity to communicate

Today, another period to a chapter of my life has been written...and I feel amazing.

The lesson hurt...A LOT! However, the best lessons might just hurt A LOT!

Yes I lived. Yes I loved. Yes I laughed. Yes, I cried. And YES, I learned.

Always living, loving, laughing and learning.

Make it a great weekend!

The Right Path

A friend and I were reminiscing earlier this evening...old pictures, good memories, and some nice laughs. Ultimately, our conversation culminated in one question ~

What is the right path for my life?

Now don't even try tell me you have not asked yourself that one before! haha

When I think about where my life is, where it has been, and where I want it to go...I continuously realize that life is amazing. Obviously there have been peaks and valleys; moments that hurt like hell intertwined with, well...orgasms:-) haha The point is, we have all done some amazing things in life!

So are we on the right path?

Answer = ABSOLUTELY!

Every path is the right path. In every moment we have the opportunity to choose. Therefore the only question is ~ Where do you want to go?

Make it a great day!

Suchie

Mya, the sis and I went for a little walk today...yes, "on a path":-)

Expect everything & anything of yourself...for you are in control!

Expectations for others lead to disappointment!

Expectations for ourselves provide guidance and motivation!

LESSON ~ Be grateful for everything & anything, anybody does for you!

The question is how do you want to see it?

I am smiling:-) Thank you V-day!

Oh I am smiling right now:-) Why you ask?
For it is absolutely impossible to look at the picture below and not smile!
Oh yes, that's one of my best friends last Valentines Day on our roof top terrace in BUENOS ARIES!

I love memories! Some always make me smile, while others hurt a little bit. However, they are all good as we continue to live, learn, laugh, and love.

Valentines Day 2011 is now officially another fantastic memory. (12:01am) No, this year I did not include dinner on a roof top terrace under Argentinian stars...and yes, I will be sleeping solo tonight. But in both cases, I woke up with a smile and will go to bed with a smile.

This morning a Valentines Day card was waiting at my door. (smile) While working today I received a flood of pictures from participants in the 12 in 12 Challenge...February's challenge was to give out Valentines(Another Smile) My Sister and I then went for sushi and a hot yoga class...where I delivered a Valentine to the Instructor + a stranger (3 more smiles)

Our lives are but a collection of memories. Thank you for being a part of mine!

Make memorable memories!

Blog 43/365 Oh nature:-)

I love nature!

Fact - winter in Canada gets well, COLD! In an effort to maintain my connection with nature I have been growing Avocado and Key Lime Trees from seed in a friends greenhouse:-) Now by no stretch of the imagination am I a Horticulturalist...but I must admit that it has been a rather fun experiment.

One of my Avocado trees:-)

As I was transplanting trees the other day I got to thinking again...

How often do you connect with nature?

I feel distraction abounds in our day to day lives, in turn encouraging us to look right past the absolutely astonishing beauty which surrounds us. If you remember back in November...part of my first challenge was to actively connect with nature ~ sunrises, walks, hikes, sunsets, start gazing and the like. Best part is that scheduling time to connect with nature is easy!

She is all around us!

Make it a great day and enjoy the beauty of nature,

Blog 41/365 ~ Twitter Talk

It's time to talk Twitter.

As with the blogging world, I am a relative newbie when it comes to the act of "tweeting." I joined Twitter a month ago with low expectations, simply on a readers request. For no apparent reason, presently I feel compelled to admit, I have been pleasantly surprised to find that amongst the abundance of absolute trash, a world full of astute comments also exists on Twitter. Of course, none of these comments are larger then 140 characters:-)

"Twitter Talk #1" posted bye Toffeemen68

"It is a terribly hard job to spend a billion dollars and get your money's worth."
~ George M. Humphrey

Friends, how many governments operate in a deficit?
They spend millions, billions, trillions of dollars...but do the values equate?

I never imagined I would say what I am about to...Twitter challenges me! lol

Make it a great day!

ps. know that I am far from understanding all the intricacies of the "Twitter world," but I am happy to find an avenue that offers the opportunity to read the flowing thoughts of many influential/inspiration humans.

Blog 40/365 TTT~ The world without us.

So I just started The World Without Us by Alan Weisman.

The book has an interesting premise...what would happen to the planet if we humans simply disappeared?

Being that it is Think Tank Thursday again, Mr. Weisman got me thinking...how many of us are actually aware of the global impact/repercussions of our actions? If we remember back a few Think Tank Thursdays ago to the speech I posted of Severn Suzuki...at the age of 12 she said "If you don't know how to fix it, please stop breaking it!"

Friends, we are a part of an amazing system of biodiversity...lets live and grow with it.

TTT Questions ~ What impact do your actions have?

make it a great day,

Suchie

ps. back to the book for a second...I am guessing Mr. Weisman will hit a scientifically founded "imagination button"...I curiously read on.

Blog 39/365 Man of the Year!

In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first.
~ Jimi Hendrix

I know that I want to develop a sustainable global future for generations to come...is that changing the world? I mean, we all have the opportunity to choose our actions; therefore we all have the opportunity to change the world...no?

Question ~ Do you spend time collecting your thoughts & emotions?
Is your "head together?"

I feel a journal challenge is a good start:-)

It happened again the other day...I watched TV! Ahhhhhhh I know, crazy eh! haha

Anyways, as I continue to work on my TV treatments, I thought it would behove me to do some research on other programs out there. What I didn't anticipate however, was to view a captivating commercial!

The hook line got me ~ "I love us"

Blog 36/365 Challenge Accepted! Gratitude Game On!

It is scientifically proven

If you take 30 seconds right now and write down 5 things you are grateful for, it will positively effect your happiness over the next 24hrs!

If you do that same exercise for 21 consecutive days, your base line happiness is positively effected for the next 6 months!

Now you may be thinking..."Suchie, what rinky dink company or University preformed this study?" The following word should pretty much clear up all doubt-> HARVARD! Shawn Achor, author of The Happiness Advantage, magna cum laude Harvard graduate and Harvard Head Teaching Fellow; founded Good Think Inc in 2007 to bridge the gap between evidence-based academic research and the real world.

Yes, happiness is a choice. What Good Think Inc suggests is that there are daily activities we can preform to raise our base line level of happiness. Well Mr. Achor...Challenge accepted!

Every morning for the next 21 days, I will write down 5 things I am grateful for. My journal and pen will wait on my night stand. I will tweet my daily gratitudes every morning and post them to the blog at night. (ps...if you are not following me on twitter yet..."Suchielove") To watch Shawn speaking about the Science of Happiness and gratitude, click here

Questions time again friends ~ What are you grateful for?

Gratitude game on! Want to play?

Blog 35/365 Home + Work = Friday night:-)

Realistically

I could be wearing a lederhosen with over 30 amazing friends in florida celebrating the birthdays of 4 loved ones. (YES...das boot! -> true story!)
(Ya'll look fantastic!)
In reality

I am in Simcoe, my hometown of 15k, working on a friday night while listening to dance music, by myself, and toasting my friends with a tequila and pineapple:-)
(cheers to you, friends!)
There seems to be a stark dichotomy between those two scenarios eh?!? lol

So why am I sitting in a cold climate, by myself, and not wearing a lederhosen with friends in the Florida warmth? Sometimes you have to buckle down! Like I wrote yesterday, I want to iron out somethings left simmering on the back burner...
  1. Write my manifesto
  2. Write my TV Treatments, study networks, and identify competition
  3. Do my Journal Challenge (yes, between writing the journal challenge and daily blog posts I did not have time to participate myself!)
  4. Organize future blog posts in a proactive effort to be more prepared and efficient with my time.
  5. Have my Tarzan photo shoot:-)
  6. Identify companies that I would like to work with and submit my CV(ideas?)
  7. Outline the first 2 books I want to write
  8. Fingers crossed...close the 2 solar deals presently in the pipeline.
  9. Decide where I want to move!
So tonight I am starting with some of the journal challenge and I invite you to join:-)
Questions 1-4 ~
1. Why am I writing?
2. What do I love about myself? Areas of desired growth?
3. How do I feel others view me? How do I view myself?
4. How do you want to be viewed in one year, 5 years, 10 years, 25 years, and after you are dead?

ALSO!!!! Starting tomorrow, when I wake up for the next 21days I will be starting a grateful/gratitude post series:-) I would tell you more...but that is tomorrows blog! :-)

Make it a great day!

with love,

Blog 34/365 I CANCELED A TRIP!

I cancelled a trip!

I love experiencing new things...I love growing...Always Living, Learning, Laughing, and Loving...aka I NEVER CANCEL TRIPS!!!

Well it is 11:26pm and I am still in Canada.

I have 4 friends with birthdays in the next 6 days = celebrations & memories galore! I could literally be on my way to FLORIDA right now! Hmmmm snow, or HELLO BEACHES!

However after a long conversation this morning with one of my best friends, a soon to be B-day boy, and while staring at a partially packed suitcase...I unpacked the suitcase, and I stayed.

I stayed because I want a plan. I have talked about writing my Manifesto, finishing my TV treatments, tightening up the blog's organization, and identifying my future means of cashflow long enough. It is time to focus and DO IT! So over the next 10days I will do just that....
Sometimes I wish I could satisfy everybody all the time...but ultimately we can only do the best we can with what we have. There is a question for you...

Are you doing the absolute BEST you can with what you have?

I will leave you today with a quote that one of the birthday girls sent me in response to my cancelation notice...

“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security.”

Surrender of security...hmmm, I am staying...I want to complete these objectives!

Make it a great day, do your BEST, and keep growing.

B-day friends...I love you and wish you the most amazing birthdays EVER!

Suchie

ps. If you are wondering how I will be able to focus on Superbowl Sunday?!?! Sorry to disappoint, I'll watch the game... but more for the commercials, cheerleaders, comradery & history then the callous competition & helmets. Side note ~ Go Packers!

Blog 33/365 TTT! The year 3000!

There are many opinions as to what the world will look like in the years to come. All I know for certain is that we will all play a role in how things unfold! Personally I want to stimulate a global attitude of stewardship and sustainability...however, for now I will simply keep reading and writing.

Blog 32/365 What's your word?

I just finished watching Eat, Pray, Love with my sister. While the blizzard of the year roared outside we were bundled up in blankets eating homemade oatmeal & peanut butter cookies. (yes, baked by yours truly:-)

Among the many eye catching ideas in this movie, one really jumped out at me. While Julia Roberts enjoyed a meal with friends on a terrace in Rome, they conversed about how the attitude of every city can be boiled down to one word. (Rome's word just happened to be Sex...and no I have not had sex in Rome. haha) But this got me thinking...

What's your word?

What's my word?

If you asked 50 people to describe you in one word...what would they say?
Would their sentiments correlate with who you feel you are?

What do you want your word to be?

Regardless to whether we have met in person or not...I would love to know what you feel my word is:)

Make it a great day!

Suchie

Blog 31/365 Give me your input please!

I am presently preparing for a little trip down to FL...reflection and planning:-)

While in FL I am going to re-tool the blog some and was curious what ya'll thought...?

  • What do you feel the blog is about?
  • What areas do you feel the blog could develop most?
  • What do you enjoy most?
Thanks and make it a great day!
